Young Men Surviving Child Sexual Abuse

This book analyses the experiences of seven young men, ranging in age from 15 to 23 years, who have as children been sexually abused. A life-story method of data collection is used, which enables the men to theorize their own experience and to understand how and why child sexual abuse has had a harmful and long-lasting impact on their day-to-day lives. Durham also presents a theoretical framework underpinning his research, and implications of the research for therapeutic practice.

Andrew Durham is the consultant practitioner for the Sexualized Inappropriate Behaviours Service (SIBS) in Warwickshire, England, and a visiting lecturer at the University of Warwick.
